Utukok River Paleoindian Fossil Ivory Talisman
Product Description
"She said there were two people you had to be true to - those who came before you and those people who came after you."The Utukok River lies at about 70 degrees north latitude just below the Arctic Ocean. It's almost hard to believe that native peoples lived and made lives in small villages on the banks of the Utukok River there more than 11,000 years ago. These native peoples were the Siberian-Alaskan Paleoindians. They are the peoples who moved south to colonize the rest of the Americas.
Our Utukok Paleoindian Fossil Ivory Talisman is designed after an arrow-shaped Fossil Ivory Talisman unearthed on the banks of the Utukok River. This Talisman is thought to have been worn to help the wearer in his hunting activity. We designed our Utukok River Paleoindian Talisman with a very special piece of 10,000 year old Fossil Walrus Ivory. It is tan in color, with an unusual streak of white through the center. We gave it a full bezel and back, and beaded border to represent the fluting of the original talisman. You'll feel very spiritually connected to our earliest ancestors when you wear this talisman. 1 3/8 inches high, 5/8 inch wide.
Complete with Sterling Silver chain.
Fossil Ivory Color Charts
Below are the available colors of our fossil ivories. Our high quality fossilized ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
