Scrimshaw Sperm Whale Tooth Portrait: "American Fishing Schooner Belle S. Neal" Gallery

Scrimshaw Sperm Whale Tooth Portrait: "American Fishing Schooner Belle S. Neal" Gallery
A portrait of one of America's most famous fishing schooners, the Belle S. Neal. She was built in 1885 at Essex, Mass. and went 100 tons. This powerful schooner is carefully etched on the front side of this lovely tooth, and has some light color added. The reverse side of this tooth has been left in its natural state so that viewers can feel what the tooth was actually like.

This classically American Sperm Whale's Tooth is horizontal. It measures 5 1/2 inches around the convex side from tip-to-base, is 1 15/16 inches wide at its base, and shows great curvature. It weighs 168 grams. (Please click on picture to enlarge.) A beautiful American ship's portrait by a respected American scrimshander - A great gift for any discriminating collector.

Choose to have us design and handmake a matching Sterling Silver stand as an additional option. This stand allows for removal and replacement of the tooth for ease of viewing. Of course, as with all of our teeth, this tooth comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

This original piece is signed by well-known American scrimshander M. M. Cohen. It is one-of-a-kind - Only one is available.
