"But the waiting time, my brothers, is the hardest time of all."

After three years of planning and development, Case has produced its Damascus Peanut Folder! And it was worth the wait! The Damascus steel for these blades was produced by Devin Thomas, America's acknowledged master of Damascus steel. The larger Clip and smaller Pen blades are made by forge welding 1094 and 15N20 (high carbon steel), folding and re-welding them many times until 100 to 150 layers are produced and manipulated to achieve the beautiful random pattern. (Just click on the picture for a larger view.) Beautiful and distinctively-Damascus patterns on the blade are produced by acid etching after forging. Damascus blades got their name because the patterns on the steel resembled the patterns in the damask cloth also being made in Damascus. (When you look at a Damascus blade under a microscope, you see tiny saw-tooth carbides, which allow the blade to cut - even when it feels dull to the touch!)

The Peanut pattern is just the right size (2 7/8 inches closed) for even your dress pant pocket. Nickel silver bolsters and brass pins and liners make this a worry-free pocket piece!

These Case Damascus Peanuts will not last long!

Fossil Ivory Color Charts

Below are the available colors of our fossil ivories. Our high quality fossilized ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
