"Legends are the stories that never, never die, that are carried like seed into a new country, are told to you and me and make in us new and lasting strengths."
Archeologists are just beginning to appreciate the rich treasure of graceful jewelry designs produced and worn by the ancient Celts in Scotland - always the land of sheep, woven and knitted shawls and sweaters. Wherever they went in their cold climate, the Celts wore knitted and woven shawls over their clothing to keep out the cold and wet. They pinned these shawls closed with a Shawl Pin, a marvel of simplicity of design - Just put the sword though the spaces between the fabric, turn the circular ring, and the Shawl Pin locks the fabrics together. (See Inset) On the bottom of the sword of our Shawl Pin is a Celtic braid. Two more Celtic braids adorn the ring at its opening. Available in Sterling SIlver or 14KT Solid Yellow Gold. Three gemstones of your choice produce an elegant piece that is worthy of your best knitted shawl! Completely handmade in our studio, of course! 5 1/8 inches long. Shown with Light Ivory Fossil Mammoth Ivory and bright Garnet gemstones. Your choice of gemstone: Garnet, Lapis, Citrine, Amethyst or Opal.

Fossil Ivory Color Charts

Below are the available colors of our fossil ivories. Our high quality fossilized ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
