"There's good chances and bad chances, and nobody's luck is pulled only by one string."Sometimes when we cut a piece of Fossilized Ivory, we just sit there in wonderment at its beauty! This piece of Fossil Walrus Ivory appeared to be just a black chunk; when we cut it, we found superbly graded colors. They run from black on the outer edge, through light brown, all the way to grey crystalline in the center. We designed this Talisman to be similar to one that was found buried in an ancient Haida settlement in southeastern Alaska. The completely handcrafted filigree and applique setting is Sterling Silver. 1 1/2 inches high, 7/8 inch wide. Complete with Sterling Silver or gold-filled chain.
A smaller version of our Haida Talisman is also available [shown below].
Fossil Ivory Color Charts
Below are the available colors of our fossil ivories. Our high quality fossilized ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
