Galaxy Pattern Damascus Steel Boker Magnum Scrimshaw Fossil Ivory Graceful Lockback 3 1/4" Closed
Product Description
"All decisions are made on insufficient evidence."Boker is one of the foremost cutlery houses in Europe. They are also one of the most respected cutlery houses in the world. This knife is part of their Magnum line - highly innovative - even to the point of trying production facilities outside of Europe.
This knife is made from stainless Damascus steel forged in China to a beautiful "Galaxy" pattern Damascus - containing both bird's eye and wave patterns.
Forged and layered Damascus Steel is known from Japan to Syria as the best steel for knife and sword blades. Layers of hard and softer stainless steel are forged together to produce the steel for this wonderful Executive single-blade lockback folder. Beautiful and distinctively-Damascus patterns on the blade are produced by acid etching after forging. Damascus blades got their name because the patterns on the steel resembled the patterns in the damask cloth also being made in Damascus. (When you look at a Damascus blade under a microscope, you see tiny saw-tooth carbides, which allow the blade to cut - even when it feels dull to the touch!)
The overall length of this distinctive folder is 3 1/4 inches (closed). It has a very handy-size single clip-point blade that is 2 1/4 inches long. Gracefully curved stainless steel bolsters and liner make this both a beautiful carry, as well as a very tough little knife! Shown with Fossil Walrus Ivory - Light With Some Crystalline. This little treasure will become one of your favorite companions!
Choose a scrimshaw etching as shown below, or add a hand scrimshawed picture of your own boat for a small extra charge. Of course, it comes with free scrimshaw personalisation - up to 7 letters.
If you choose the option of an etching of a ship or logo of your choice, or your own boat (sail or power)on one side - Just email or snailmail us a picture.
Fossil Ivory Color Charts
Below are the available colors of our fossil ivories. Our high quality fossilized ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
