Imagine owning a great Bear MGC Damascus steel linerlock with fossil ivory! (now Bear and Son Cutlery)

Damascus steel! Layers of hard high carbon steel are forged together and folded a number of times to produce layered billet of Damascus steel (long known as the very best steel for knife and sword blades) for this blade. Beautiful and distinctively-Damascus patterns on the blade are produced by acid etching after forging. Damascus blades got their name because the patterns on the steel resembled the patterns in the damask cloth also being made in Damascus. (When you look at a Damascus blade under a microscope, you see tiny saw-tooth carbides, which allow the blade to cut - even when it feels dull to the touch!)

This is a locking folder whose locking mechanism is built into the liner - Flip open the blade and it locks automatically. Use just your thumb to close by putting a slight sideward pressure on the locking liner. This knife has all of the great features you'd expect from a terrific American company like Bear MGC - all stainless liner, random pattern Damascus blade, Teflon blade washers, nickel silver bolsters, stainless removable pocket clip. Choose from smooth blade or one-half serrated blade options.

Choose your fossil ivory and color. You will give this knife a premier location in your collection. Shown with Sunset Ivory Pearl.

In any fossil ivory you choose, you won't be able to wait to show this knife to your friends and fellow collectors. Choose your scrimshaw etching and personalisation, such as the customized truck shown in the inset etched on Fossil Mammoth Ivory - Cream. A perfect gift!

Fossil Ivory Color Charts

Below are the available colors of our fossil ivories. Our high quality fossilized ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
