With Leather Belt Sheath
"Nothing contributes so much to tranquilize the mind as a steady purpose - a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye." The Bear MGC Co., (now Bear and Son Cutlery) one of Americas's finest and most collectible knifemakers, has produced the steel for this two-blade Trapper folder. The overall length of this Trapper is 3 1/2 inches closed. Nickel silver bolsters, brass liner and stainless steel frame and pins make this knife one you can count on for many years of sturdy service. Choosing the correct steel for knife blades has been a difficult decision for knifemakers for centuries. A blade must be soft enough to take an edge easily, but hard enough to keep its edge through all the difficult tasks you ask it to perform. Whether for a shepherd's knife or a samurai sword, forged and layered Damascus Steel is known the world over as the best steel for any blade. 512 layers of alternating hard and softer high carbon steel form a superb blade that can be easily sharpened and yet holds its edge extremely well. The forged layers are then acid-etched to bring out beautiful striated patterns of light and dark steel on the blades.
