2 1/2 inch - $175.00
"The hardest thing to believe when you're young is that people will fight to stay in a rut, but not to get out of it." Ellen Glasgow
Forged and layered Damascus Steel is known from Japan to Syria as the best steel for knife and sword blades. Layers of hard and softer high carbon steel are forged together by Bear MGC, now one of Americas's most collectible knifemakers (now Bear and Son Cutlery), to produce the steel for this wonderful Mini Executive single-blade lockback folder. Beautiful and distinctively-Damascus patterns on the blade are produced by acid etching after forging. Damascus blades got their name because the patterns on the steel resembled the patterns in the damask cloth also being made in Damascus. (When you look at a Damascus blade under a microscope, you see tiny saw-tooth carbides, which allow the blade to cut - even when it feels dull to the touch!)
The overall length of this distinctive folder is 2 1/2 inches (closed). It has a very handy-size single drop-point blade that is 1 5/8 inches long. Nickel silver bolsters and brass liner make this knife a superb, inobtrusive pocket-companion. Shown with Oosik Ivory etched with a full-rigged ship. This treasure will become one of your favorite possessions!
Choose a scrimshaw etching as shown below, or add a hand scrimshawed picture of your own boat for a small extra charge. Of course, it comes with free scrimshaw personalization - up to 7 letters.
