This new steel is crafted of 33 layers of highly-polished A410 stainless steel over a high carbon steel core.(Please click on the picture to see the beautiful Damascus pattern on the blade.) The VG10 Super Steel keeps its edge incredibly long, and the edge is razor-sharpened on one side and slightly concave on the other - making for very easy sharpening when you need it! (These blades are extra sharp and require great care in use.)

Each is an absolutely beautiful example of the ultimate in kitchen cutlery! Our VG10 Steak Knives are 8 3/4 inch overall and have a 4.5 inch blade. Shown with fossil walrus ivory, banded malachite and cocobolo wood.
These Steak knives are meant to be not only robust, but a work of art. You help design pieces that you will be proud to own, put on your table, and ultimately hand down to your heirs!: Next to the bolster we let you choose either green-banded malachite, turquoise, red coral, or banded amber. For the central section you choose the type and color of Fossil Ivory you prefer. The wooden end bolster is also your choice: cocobolo, American walnut, Cherry, or African Blackwood. Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
