"Until you make peace with who you are, you'll never be content with what you have."
Many of the talimans we found at the Chaluka site on little Umnak Island in the eastern Aleutians are what have been described as
Spirit Anchors, worn by Aleut hunters who spent much of their time in their kayaks fishing and hunting. It's important to note that the primitive anchors for their kayaks were a simple circular stone with a hole pounded in its center to which a line was attached. Sites as old as 5000 years have yielded small, Shaman-made,
Spirit Anchors that were worn by these ancient fisherman-hunters. They are thought to provide protection for the spirit, anchoring it in times of stress.
Our Fossil Ivory Aleut
Spirit Anchor is designed after one of these. Like their kayak anchor, our is a simple circle of beautiful Fossil ivory surrounding a hole through which a leather thong is attached. Choose your Fossil Ivory type and color from the options below. (Shown with Fossil Walrus Ivory - Light Rust Crystalline.)
We all need to have a
Spirit Anchor out to windward for when life's hardships buffet us. This Talisman is simple, yet powerful - ancient, yet contemporary. 1 inch circle.
Complete with leather neck thong.
